Let’s face it. It’s hard to try and explain pro-wrestling to the non-initiated. Because not only does it exist within its own world, its own bubble, but we all love it for different reasons. We all prefer certain styles, attitudes, looks and tones over others. Many of us started watching it in different eras, with different heroes and icons. We favor one type of match over another. So compiling a list of the 10 greatest wrestlers of all time is no easy endeavor. But we at Crizic, somehow did it. Here are the 10 greatest WWE wrestlers of all time.
10. CM Punk:
No matter whatever people say, Punk has to be the greatest wrestler of PG era. No one, except maybe Daniel Bryan comes close. He really was what he said, ‘Best on the microphone, in that ring, on commentary.’ Will he make his comeback to WWE? Possibly never. Has he cemented his legacy? Yeah. Definitely yeah.
9. Bret Hart:
Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart gave us true wrestling at the time when Vince thought only brawlers could get over. He revolutionalized the entire industry with great in-ring action, various moves and the sharpshooter.
8. Macho Man Randy Savage:
OOOOOOOOH YEAAAAAH! The cream always rises to the top! Well unfortunately for Macho Man, it was always Hogan who rose to the top. Amazing on mic and great in ring with plethora of charisma, Savage finds his place on number eight on this list.
7. Eddie Guerrero:
Viva la Raza! Guerrero could brawl, fly or get technical and had brilliant mic skills. And let’s not forget that he was respected and liked in every locker room never heard anything bad said about him. He was almost a beaming light of charisma, much like the Rock. But he was also as smooth as Bret Hart as far as in ring technician. He was as good a high flyer as any cruiserweight in the world, and he had incredible psychology. He could tell a story as a heel and a face with his body language. He was freaking hilarious, in the santino way, the kurt angle way, and the DX way! When we count down the top ten in the categories funny, charismatic, technical, high flying, heels, faces, Eddie will be in all of those lists. Eddie Guerrero is the most versatile and incredible wrestler that there has ever been.
6. Shawn Michaels:
Whenever there will be talks of greatness, the showstopper Shawn Michaels will always be there with his amazing atheletism, charming wit and loads of charisma. Oh, and Sweet Chin Music.
5. The Rock:
Dwayne Johnson has to be WWE’s best export to other media. The Rock defined the true meaning of charisma and showed the world how WWE is truly a remarkable company. The most electrifying man in sports entertainment finds his place on number five on this list.
4. Andre the Giant:
Why Andre is here? Don’t ask. Maybe because of nostalgia. Maybe because of being one true giant. Maybe because of being the eigth wonder of the world. If you ask us truly, Hogan would have been here on Andre’s place if he wasn’t so selfish and well, boring.
3. The Undertaker:
DONG. The guy who terrified every single kid in the 90s and 2000s, and made wrestlers shit their pants, though in kayfabe, isn’t that good in-ring when compared to others on this list. But it is his mannerism and way he carries himself should be enough to make him one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. This master of in-ring psychology and the guy who is still keeping kayfabe alive marks his place on number three on this list.
2. Ric Flair:
WOOOOOOO. He has to be here, doesn’t he? Ric Flair has done everything he could to keep the business up and running. He is number two only because of;
1. Stone Cold Steve Austin:
Because Stone Cold Steve Austin. Period.
