[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]merican television has given us some great moments. We at Crizic decided to take a walk down the history and pick up some gems. Iconic scenes on television, that is. Here are the 5 greatest moments in American TV history.

5. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Will’s father leaves him:

This scene makes its way on this list solely because it gave us Will Smith. And you know what the best part was? That scene was improvised by Will.  Brilliant.

4. Futurama, Seymour waiting for Fry:

Oh Futurama! It was the time everyone took this show lightly, and Matt Groening gave the world his version of Hachiko, when everyone least expected it.

3. Breaking Bad, When Jesse keeps calling Jane:

There are few shows that become on-going legends like Simpsons, and Breaking Bad, at its run-time, was one because of scenes like this. *Sniff* now pass me the tissues please.

2. The Wire, first episode:

Before The Wire arrived on television scene, no one expected a cliche like drug dealing in television to be amazing. Then The Wire’s pilot came. Minds were blown and bricks were shat.

1. The Sopranos, ending black screen:

There has been no scene on television as powerful as this, and there will probably be never one.
